The Delft business incubator YES!Delft has grown enormously in the last decade. Just last year, 18 new companies joined the successful incubator for start-ups and YES!Delft was also ranked ninth in the European section of the UBI index 2014. The success of YES!Delft was one of the reasons that the TU Delft wished to further expand its capacity. Not only to help companies continue to grow further, but also to be able to offer space for the first time to biotech business start-ups*. The first companies are expected to move into the new building before the summer of 2016.
The design and construction are being realized by contractual partner Cordeel Nederland BV in collaboration with cepezed. The building will rise up on the TU Delft Science Park Technopolis and will be equipped with laboratories, offices and a limited number of general facilities such as pantries and meeting rooms. Op the ground floor, the new-build will be linked to the current YES!Delft building. A unique feature is that besides office space, YES!Delft with bio-facilities will also offer laboratory space, plus a ‘shared facility lab’. There is a great demand for laboratory space in the region and with what they have on offer, the parties involved hope they can facilitate industrial biotech business start-ups as well.
This second business incubator will be realized on campus together with the Delft City Council, the Province of South Holland and the European Union.
