Aurora draws inspiration from Barovier&Toso’s historic Venetian archive, reinterpreting the ancient oil lamp through a contemporary lens. The form preserves the memory of domestic light, translating it into an essential, timeless gesture where form and function seamlessly coincide. In place of oil and wick, an advanced lighting system is fully integrated into the structure, delivering a calibrated and enveloping glow. Technology remains invisible, allowing the continuity of the design and the quality of the material to take center stage. The colored glass base is created through a rigorously ribbed mold with sixteen facets, subsequently mouth-blown to produce a solid, vibrant structure. The transparent diffusers feature a very fine twisted rigadin pattern, generating dynamic optical effects and articulated luminous depth. Light travels through the surfaces, filtered and reflected, creating a layered and sensitive perception. The result is a finely balanced dialogue between memory and innovation, in which light becomes a continuous, natural presence that gently accompanies the space.
