For nearly fifty years now, the family company Selva has stood for classically timeless elegance. Stylish furniture, in hand crafted perfect quality and produced with a great love for detail – that has been the trademark of the traditional Italian company since its founding in 1968. Several years ago, Selva already blazed the trail in the direction of “modern classics” with the product line Selva Timeless. In Cologne in 2016, Selva is presenting another classically modern collection. It carries the name Eliza, and the particularly special thing about it: the furniture is presented inthe trendy shabby chic look.
“I feel like I’ve come home,” is how designer Tiziano Bistaffadescribes the emotions that are triggered in him at the sight ofthe Collection Eliza, which was designed for the Selva Timelessline. In spite of the clear lines and doing away with frills,three new finishes in the shabby chic look lend the furniturecollection Eliza a hint of romance. The sonorous names ofthe finishes are “White Vintage”, “Taupe Grey Vintage”, and“Chocolate Vintage”. In connection with the classically timelessfurniture creations from the Collection Eliza, they will transformevery space into a cozy, feel-good setting. Distressed touches onthe corners and edges express the charm of imperfection, thusradiating a pleasant sense of comfort. “Because people shouldlive with the furniture and not just next to it,” says designer Bistaffa.
With Eliza, Selva will be presenting a collection in January thatalso fulfills the desires and expectations of a youthful, modernpublic. A target group which, however, in no way wishes to dowithout a warm, familiar setting. In spite of this, those wholove the classics will also continue to find the tried and true inthe Collection Eliza. Particularly since this collection also comesin the conventional tones such as cherry-coloured and walnut coloured.
In keeping with the harmonious, cozy Collection Eliza, Selvawishes to create a pleasant flair for the visitors starting rightfrom the tradeshow stand. The focus will be on the naturalcolours of the fabrics and the walls. Wallpaper in tones of greyand beige will accent the vintage look and generate the fittingatmosphere for the creations from the Collection Eliza.
Coordinated with the existing product line, Eliza can becombined with all of the models from the Selva Timeless line.These will be presented to the visitors in Cologne by usingthe variable table system Varia. This table system, which wassuccessfully introduced in 2015, offers customers the possibilityof being designers themselves. Because for a tabletop in thedesired size and colour, a selection may be made from amongsix different table legs. Each leg provides the table with adifferent character: classic, playful, linear – anything is possible.
