GA1 was originally designed by legendary Swedish architect Gunnar Asplund for the extension of Gothenburg City Hall.
GA1 can be said to resemble a cloud, floating over the floor surface. The light fitting consists of two glass halves, joined together by a chromed detail.
The two halves, mouthblown and manufactured in a three layer opaque glass, is a testament of the understanding and respect of glass as a material: Each radius and surface is deliberate and the meeting between the two halves is well balanced. Originally the fitting was constructed around the light bulb.
In order not to change the unique and original light distribution created by the glass, GA1 will continue to be manufactured for omni-directional lightsources.
