Features

Crafted with a body made of varnished aluminum sheet, a shade composed of photo-etched optical polycarbonate, and an internal reflector made of photo-etched ABS, the pendant lamp is aesthetically appealing and engineered for functionality. It features an orientable body and is powered directly from the mains. The dimmable LED can be adjusted using a "Triac for Led" dimmer approved by Flos, further enhancing its adaptability.

Moreover, with a generous 9-meter cable length, the lamp can be suspended up to 3 meters from the ceiling, offering flexibility in positioning. Additionally, there is an option for a multiple rose with the capacity to connect up to 5 Aim lamps, allowing for the creation of unique lighting arrangements. It's important to note that proper electrical connection system installations are necessary to ensure the lamp's optimal performance and safety.

Particularly beautiful when suspended alongside other Aim pendants, the body of the classic lamp is made from a varnished aluminum sheet and the shade from photo-etched polycarbonate. The internal reflector is fabricated with photo-etched ABS.

The LED light source (16W 2700 K 1250 m CR190) is included. The pendant light is available in three versions: a hardwired version with a 5’’ diameter canopy that is hardwired to a 120V junction box (no additional LED required); a plug-in version with a (non-dimmable) switch; and a fixed version.

Depending upon the selected wiring option, the LED may be dimmed with a dimmer approved by Flos.

Created by FLOS Lighting, which has been crafting lighting objects since 1962, exploring light – or its absence – is key to the company philosophy. Bold experimentations in shape, material, and LED technology plus collaboration with internally acclaimed designers are hallmarks of the company.

Reference projects

Mediterranean lifestyle in Shanghai

The Shanghai apartment project offered a great opportunity to incorporate the Flos Aim pendant lamp into a modern, Mediterranean-inspired living space. The lamp's simple and functional design perfectly matched the project's concept of clean lines, neutral tones, and efficient functionality. Because of the open-plan layout of the main floor, which includes the living room, kitchen, and dining area, it was important to have a versatile lighting solution. The elongated shapes of the lamps complemented the contemporary architecture, while the choice of lamp finish—either classic white or a bolder color from the extended range—introduced a playful element that matched the Mediterranean color palette of the project.

Richards St

This 1750 square foot, three-bedroom apartment on the 35th floor of a waterside downtown building is home to an entrepreneurial couple with a young son. The downtown apartment project presented a unique opportunity to integrate the Flos Aim pendant lamp into a contemporary, light-filled living space.  Given the apartment’s emphasis on natural light and expansive views, the Flos Aim was an ideal choice for providing additional illumination without competing with the existing luminosity. A cluster of Aim pendants was suspended over the dining table, creating a focal point while offering adjustable task lighting for mealtimes. The ability to direct the light precisely allowed for flexibility in accommodating different seating arrangements and times of day.

Mondriaan Tower

The Mondriaan Tower is one of the 3 office towers on the Amstelplein in Amsterdam. The tower has a unique space with lounge islands surrounded by custom-made rugs and 10-meter-high curtains that contribute to a pleasant acoustic experience. The tower emphasizes creating a harmonious blend of urban dynamics and natural tranquility. Featuring a cable length of 9 meters, the Aim pendants can be suspended up to 3 meters from the ceiling, thus providing freedom and flexibility to adjust the direction and height of the light source. Given the tower's emphasis on creating a harmonious blend of urban dynamics and natural tranquility, the Flos Aim's minimalist design and versatility complement the existing interior. The Aim's adjustable features provide focused task lighting for individuals working or relaxing in these intimate spaces. Its sleek form would also align with the contemporary furniture and overall design aesthetic. In conjunction with the Mondrian-inspired light fixtures, the Aim creates a layered lighting scheme where the larger Mondrian-inspired fixtures provide ambient light, and the Aim pendants offer more directional illumination.
