ELP expands the popular HITC Series with LED offerings. These patented “Hole in the Ceiling” luminaires integrate into the structure and become part of the ceiling.
Previously available with compact fluorescent, incandescent, tungsten and metal halide lamping, these unique, cast down lights are now ready for today’s market with LED options. The durable lower, cast portion of the fixture is made of GRG (Glass fiber Reinforced Gypsum) composite material. It is installed like drywall, mounted to stud constructionand then the seam edges are taped, mudded and sanded like any sheetrock joint. Once installed the fixtures appear to be a custom formed drywall light niche in the ceiling that blends with any interior motif. There is no visible metal or trim in the normal viewing angle and the standard design provides a 45˚ visual cutoff. All integral electrical components in the fixtures metal “top-hat” are accessible through the fixture aperture for future servicing. These IC, Airtight rated cast, down lights utilize Bridgelux LED’sin 2700K, 3000K, 3500K and 4000K with 90+ CRI. They are offered in four standard sizes, with round or square 4-1/2”, 6”, 8” and 10” apertures at 19, 27, 31 and 31 watts respectively. Additionally, a unique cone/trumpet shaped casting is available with a diameter of 18” at the ceiling.
Renowned for introducing some of the first cast luminaires that integrate into the structure, ELP first presented the “Hole in the Wall” in 1990. This predecessor to the “Hole in the Ceiling” provides a soft asymmetric wash of light and is shallow enough to mount in a standard stud wall. These versatile fixtures can be mounted in the ceiling as wall washers or in the wall as indirect up-lights or floor wash units. During the past 25 years this series has grown to over 15 models with an assortment of aperturesranging from 4” x 6” to 8” x 54” with numerous lamping options. An additional partner in cast down lighting is the linear, “Slot in the Ceiling” available in 18”, 24”, 36”, 48” and continuous runs. All LED products have a standard 5 year warranty.
For over 30 years, ELP has been providing quality, specification grade lighting products to the industry.Oddly enough, two entirely separate schools of thought have fueled ELP’s growth and innovations through the years: 1) Fabricate high performing, metal luminaires utilizing the most current technology and finishes to optimize performance; and 2) Create unique, cast GRG lighting that incorporates into the structure and unobtrusively illuminates your space and architectural elements from subtle light niches. Some may see the two concepts as diametrically opposed, but ELP has found it to be a winning combination.
