The product we supplied is the solid oak countertop for the kitchen island. That was made out of rift cut white oak stained to a custom color to match the brick walls with a flat gloss polyurethane finish. Peter chose the rift cut instead of the usual flat cut to avoid a too grainy look; the poly finish was chosen for durability. Both ends feature a cap to add a bit of personalization.
I have no photos of it since, at the time we installed, the site was a huge mess but I found several pictures of it on the link you have provided.
