The world's first ergonomic office chair for women has been created by the designer Monica Förster. Förster is to present the elegant Lei for the Swedish company Officeline during the 2009 Stockholm Furniture Fair. Lei is the result of a lenght study on female sitting posture, and is ergonomically designed to prevent occupational injury. For the first time ever, an office chair developed and adapted specifically for women is being presented. The Swedish company Officeline is behind the project as Lei respresents the company's biggest venture to date, and from an early stage they expressed a wish to design incollaboration with the internationally established designer Monica Förster.
The Lei office chair project has remained in its infancy for many years, while we waited for the right partner to collaborate with. With Monica we knew that every important detail would receive her optimal designer attention, and here we stand now with a result which surpasses our highest expectations says Lennart Tranback, founder and Managing Director of Officeline. It has been an exciting challenge developing a chair to match such precise ergonomic demands. Lei is one of the most technically advanced projects I have worked on, which has obliged me to come up with new design ergonomic solution says Monica Förster.
