The handle on a door needs to be simple and elementary, easy to use and immediately comprehensible. For this project with Olivari, we wanted to create shapes that were reduced to minimum terms, so Living is like a line drawn in space, and the Ice Cube model is a play of simplified volumes. Interpenetrating forms are locked together as the two main components of the handle: the horizontal grip and the connector to the door functioning as a rotation axis. The linearity of the shapes expresses continuity with our architecture, transposed to the domestic scale of a utilitarian object. The clarity of the concept leaves no room for superfluousness or uselessness. “Ceci est une poignée”.
