The construction
Malmö Live is the meeting place for music, culture and entertainment in Malmö. The complex appears as a clear and easy-to-read composition of cubic building volumes. From the inside, the three main components of the building - the large symphony hall, the flexible multi-hall and the congress hall - appear as clearly defined elements that, through their mutual composition, strike the tone perfectly and emphasize the house's built-in musicality.
Choice of floor solution
A modern cultural institution places strict demands on the floor. It has to look good, it has to be sustainable, and then every year it has to be able to hold 100,000s of visiting feet that move around between the house's varying offerings and functions. Architect and client chose Hørning Parket Solid Line in oak with natural oil for the project. The lively and light architectural expression of the floor dresses the open corridors, the stairs and the concert hall fantastically well. And if you add a long service life, fast installation and a big plus to the indoor climate, as the floor does not need to be sanded, we can really understand why Malmö Live said yes to Hørning Parket Solid Line.
