Materia is a freestanding washbasin defined by a cylindrical carbon-steel body and a Carrara Gioia marble top.
The steel is treated with a protective finish while retaining the natural variations of the material, including visible marks, tonal differences and irregularities in the surface. A transparent resin coating provides additional protection without masking these characteristics.
The upper surface is made from Carrara Gioia marble, characterised by a white background with fine grey veining. The combination of marble and dark steel creates a clear distinction between the horizontal basin surface and the cylindrical supporting volume.
The design is based on a simple geometric form with minimal detailing. Its freestanding configuration allows the washbasin to be positioned independently within the bathroom and makes the material composition visible from all sides.
