TON presented its first model from the Merano Collection—the armchair that won the Red Dot and Good Design awards—at Salone del Mobile in 2010. Four years later, Alexander Gufler added to it with his designs of a chair as well as a bar stool that comes in two heights, and, this year, the Merano family will grow again, with the addition of a lounge armchair. “It is perfect for hotel lobbies, waiting rooms, as well as living rooms. My design is based on the construction principles of the previous models of this collection, but with a new approach. Because of this, the collection continues to create an impression of freshness,” described Alexander Gufler.
The Merano lounge armchair also combines solid wood legs with bent plywood in the seat and seat back. This time, however, the typical shapes of the seat back and armrest have been joined into a single piece, with comfortable upholstery on the interior.
