I made the mozaika seat as part of a series exploring an experimental laser-cutting pattern. Once I had the steel sheet cut, I polished it, welded it into a ring, and freely hammered it to make the form. This created very organic curves and forms, yet the geometry allowed the individual squares to remain flat and reflect light much like a mosaic does, hence the name Mozaikan n which is the word in my mother tongue. This piece was shown in NY at the NOHO Design District during Design Week in May of 2011 and was later featured in many design blogs including Core77 and the Contemporist.
