Leading Japanese office furniture manufacturer Okamura has created Repiroue, a new perching stool designed specifically for active and dynamic workspaces with height-adjustable tables and desks. Not only is each stool in the collection simply height-adjustable, but Okamura has drawn upon its deep engineering expertise to create an advanced mechanism in the base. As a result, the perching stool tilts with body movement in any direction: a full 360 degrees. Ideal for ‘touch-down’ areas, meeting rooms and other short-term seating, Repiroue works alongside adjustable height work surfaces like Okamura’s SW Collection, bringing health benefits that come with alternating postures throughout the work day. “Repiroue helps maintain a healthy curve of the spine, as well as giving support to a quasi-standingposition, combining the benefits of sitting and standing,” said Hiroki Iwashita, Senior ManagingDirector, Marketing Division of Okamura. “The chair holds 70% of its occupant’s weight, reducingstress to the legs and bringing a greater degree of comfort throughout the work day.” The perching stool’s clean, simple design is available in a black or white body, with seats in 10 fabric colors and 10 vinyl colors, selected to meet the needs of a wide variety of corporate settings. The stool will be introduced to the US market at NeoCon 2016, North America’s leading commercial design exposition.
