New for Chilewich Contract 2014 is “Stripe”, which is available in wall to wall flooring, tile flooring, custom floor mats and wall textiles. Stripe displays an intricate sequencing of metallic color gradations. The overall tonality creates a refined aesthetic that will enhance commercial and residential interiors. Stripe is available in three colors; Silver Grey, Gemstone, and Earth. “I was inspired to position metallics in a new light this season. Each individual yarn is specified by us and extruded specifically for each Stripe coloration. Silver Grey, Gemstone, and Earth are each composed of nine individual colors, which together create complex harmonies. The overall effect allows these textiles to be very versatile so that they can enhance whichever finish you wish to feature in a room.” Chilewich bi-color yarns are the foundation for how Chilewich expresses color. Each individual strand can be composed of two contrasting colors. Experimenting with the proportions of light and dark within a weaving construction is a deliberate and exacting process. The outcome is never a one note color, but more of a complex tone of a shade. Stripe is produced using TerraStrand™, the proprietary name of Chilewich yarns, which is 100% phthalate free. TerraStrand™ contains 25% renewable vegetable content. It will be used in over 90% of Chilewich woven products by 2015. All Chilewich flooring is Green Label Plus™ certified by the Carpet and Rug Institute. These guidelines were written to protect indoor air quality by mandating low VOC products. Green Label Plus™ certification is recognized by the U.S. Green Building Council and therefore earns LEED points. All Chilewich Contract textiles contain Microban® antimicrobial protection which works continuously for the lifetime of the product to inhibit the growth of stain- and odor-causing bacteria, mold and mildew. Microban® protection is ideal for any healthcare, hospitality, home or office environment where mold and mildew are a concern.
