Meeting tables

The Vida Collection is the inaugural collection between German designer Hanne Willmann and Davis Furniture. This extensive collection offers solutions that range from occasional to medium and large conference tables. Notably the first female designer to release a collection with the US based furniture manufacturer, Hanne collaborated with Davis Furniture to create this collection of tables that feature soft geometric forms and high-quality materials. As when working with any new designer, Davis Furniture initially encouraged Hanne to analyze the company’s portfolio and create designs that not only fit within the company’s established aesthetic but also added a new and fresh sensibility for the manufacturer. The result is a robust collection of tables poised to meet the many needs – aesthetic to functional – within a variety of interiors.

“I view my design process as an ongoing search for sense and sensuality within design, and I utilized that approach as I worked with Davis Furniture for this initial collection. They encouraged me to bring something new and fresh to their offering while still being true to the ‘Davis aesthetic’, and the Vida collection strikes a perfect balance between those sensibilities.” – Hanne Willmann

From occasional to conference, each Vida table is grounded by a solid-steel powder coated base and thin profile top. The strength and rigor of the steel base is contrasted with a soft curve in both its silhouette and overall form. Each base can be finished in one of Davis’ 30+ standard powder coat finishes which adds to the beauty and highly adaptable aesthetic of the design. The tops are available in ash, oak and walnut veneers, standard laminates as well as Fenix™ Innovative Materials in a range of hues. The boarder of each top features a reverse bevel edge which mimics the thin profile of the base. Integrated power options are available in the meeting and conference tabletops adding to the functionality of the design. Vida’s occasional table features a round cantilevered surface which is effortlessly embraced by its curved base. The small meeting option includes a seamless drum base featuring a unique aperture seen from the side profile. Finally, the conference table options are a study within geometry as their curves simultaneously celebrate both convex and concave forms. Vida exudes a harmonious design with its depth of materiality and technological precision; meanwhile its sculptural silhouette stands out as a modern showpiece design for any interior, from contract to residential.

After studying at the University of the Arts in Berlin and Elisava in Barcelona, Hanne Willmann worked for the design studio Autoban in Istanbul and for Werner Aisslinger in Berlin, before founding her own studio in 2015. Today Hanne’s Berlin-based multidisciplinary design studio focuses on industrial design, product design and design consultancy. The ongoing search for sense and sensuality in design has given Studio Hanne Willmann a unique position within the design industry. Hanne and her studio have worked with many different brands from all over the world, revealing a profound fascination for details and emphasizing the high value she places on aesthetic appeal.
