All About Porcelain Wall Tiles

Porcelain tiles are denser, stronger and absorb moisture better than ceramic tiles. These are made by using finely grained clay at higher temperatures. These tiles are available in all finishes and used for both indoor and outdoor installations. Porcelain tiles commonly used to cover floors and walls with good water absorption. The clay used to build porcelain tiles is generally denser and can either be glazed or unglazed. Porcelain tiles are type of vitrified tiles which are harder than ordinary ceramic tiles. These tiles can be used in both wet and dry areas such as bathrooms, showers and kitchens. The density of porcelain makes the surface completely impervious to water.

Another benefit of using porcelain tiles is that it’s highly stain resistant and is capable of repelling liquid penetration in such a way that staining agents won’t penetrate down through the matter.  Porcelain tiles are considered to be the toughest flooring options available on the market. Apart from being solid, these tiles are also hard, dense and highly resistant to most heavy impact stresses which make it perfect for commercial use. The water absorption rate of porcelain tile makes it suitable for interior and exterior application in all climates.

Porcelain tiles are the type of materials that don’t easily burn and these floors can restrict the movement of flames during fire outbreak. These tiles are properly installed and there is no need to worry about these getting worn out in areas of high traffic, as porcelains have the ability to last for a couple of decades if used properly. Also, the period cost of replacement and removal can be eliminated. The natural stain and the water resistance of porcelain is one of the reasons of it’s easy maintenance. Any spills could easily be spot cleaned using a damp rag or conventional mop and regular sweeping can be done to keep loose dust and debris off the floor. The glazed surface of this type of tile should be thoroughly maintained then it can last for a couple of years. Porcelain tiles are highly resistant to cracking, as well as breakage caused by physical impacts. Though, damage can happen on a tile, but this isn’t really a problem at all. These tiles can be easily replaced or removed.
