The project regards the construction of a single house occupying a rectangular piece of land. The building is located between the town and the countryside, and it is characterized by a natural landscape with a lush vegetation. In order to strengthen the bond between the inhabited spaces and the surroundings, the house extends in one floor, consisting of two combined concrete volumes of different heights: the taller includes access passages, patio and living room; the lower one contains the sleeping area.
Functionally, the spaces are distributed in three parallel bands, interrupted by green areas, alternating fullness and emptiness. Accessing from the north, the large patio serves as an entrance and as a filter, relating with the garden through openings in the building envelope. The living room, characterized by an open space, opens into the patio with a grand glass wall and a smoothed concrete floor both inside and outside. The home environment is very cosy, due to the wood that covers the surface of the ceiling and the large wooden wall system of the living room. The long corridor, equipped by a wardrobe, distributes the sequence of bedrooms and bathrooms facing east, depicting with their windows the façade of the house. The large flat roof of the patio sets back in correspondence of the internal trees, while framing portions of the sky and allowing for the light to penetrate into the house.
