Absa appointed allen international to develop a conceptual test-lab branch at Clearwater Mall, just outside Johannesburg. Absa will use this branch to develop innovative products and processes prior to rolling these out across its entire branch network. By using this model Absa seeks to create a more interactive environment for customers whilst promoting and testing new ways of banking.
Solution ... By creating different customer journeys for Exclusive Banking, retail consultation and high traffic transactional banking, allen international have been able to deliver a focussed and efficient solution for Absa at Clearwater. This allows the main banking space to be used for Absa customer initiatives, including group purchase promotions, community engagement as well as showcasing the bank’s sponsorship activities.
To enhance the customer experience there are quick service pods, Microsoft surface tables and a dynamic and engaging 25 meter long digital screen.
Success ... The branch concept has been a success with an increase in revenues and exclusive banking for the affluent customers increased dramatically.
Elements within the branch such as the 25m long digital screen and tablet ‘forest’ have added great interest for the customers and been good tools to communicate bank news and products.
3rd party retailers within the branch have had good success This success has led to a waiting list of reatilers wanting to take part. The concept will be rolled out to other branches.
