Alamannenhalle Lauchheim

The City of Lauchheim required a replacement building for the ageing Alamannenhalle dating from the 1960s. The new multi-purpose hall, positioned close to the street, compensates for the significant difference in height between the road and the Jagst floodplain, thereby creating space for a generous festival and recreation meadow along the renaturalised riverbank.

The central space for large events is the three-part divisible hall, accessed via a two-storey foyer. For events, an 80 sqm folding stage is integrated at the front end of the hall.

The interior is characterised by the natural tones of exposed concrete, executed in smooth and board-formed finishes, providing a robust and durable surface. This is complemented by light-glazed spruce wood panelling. The continuous black linoleum flooring extends seamlessly to the exterior in the form of dark concrete paving, visually connecting interior and exterior spaces. The restrained colour palette supports both sports use and event functions alike.
