Apartment A.M01 was renovated from the old design by Flat 6 Architects with many shortcomings into a tidy space, providing more ventilation and more light for the whole project. at the same time, highlighting the already beautiful floor space and large glass wall.
The design plan focuses on changing the lobby space, stairs and especially the kitchen. The kitchen and the back additive lot were pushed inside according to the old design, the architects arranged the kitchen back to the center, helping the space become closer to family members. The kitchen becomes the highlight of the interior, an independent box standing in the middle of the mission space connected with other surrounding functions. To overcome the division of many small, complicated spaces and lack of natural light, the second floor is designed to reduce 1 bedroom to help the space become more spacious and airy.
The challenge when renovating the apartment is the technical system of the building, especially the drainage location of the kitchen and the toilet area is difficult to change, architects have carefully calculated before relocating. so that the drainage system remains secure without affecting the general aesthetic. Besides, changing the location of the old staircase is not aesthetic, making a new ladder to connect with the existing concrete floor structure is also a challenge of the project. The new staircase is designed with semi-solid, semi-hollow and the upper part is made of open wooden steps to prevent the kitchen block from sticking to the ladder, while reducing the thickness of the ladder structure, so that the traffic of the corridor below The ladder still ensures a comfortable height for people of average height, and ensures that it does not affect the form of "separate blocks" of the kitchen.
With a limited budget, the most important items of the project such as kitchen area, sofa set, air conditioning system, sanitary equipment, etc. get the best budget investment. In contrast, other materials such as furniture, lighting system, tiles, etc. selected for the affordable price and easy to replace. During the construction process, architects also combine the selection of materials, furniture from colors and materials with reasonable prices to ensure the work budget.
