Angled Volumes

Set within the wild and untouched terrain of Paros, the residence is conceived as a composition of pure geometries that integrates seamlessly into the natural landscape.  The architectural concept is based on the creation of three distinct volumes, through which the functions of the house are clearly organized, expressing the project’s minimalist design philosophy.

The elevated white volumes accommodate the private areas of the residence, creating calm and protected living spaces with uninterrupted views towards the Cycladic landscape. In contrast, the stone volumes, more grounded and embedded into the terrain, host the communal functions, strengthening the relationship between the architecture and the natural environment.

The residence unfolds across three levels. The central level accommodates the living areas — living room, dining area, and kitchen — conceived as a unified open-plan space extending towards the outdoor terraces and the surrounding views.

The upper level contains two bedrooms, while the lower level hosts three additional bedrooms, ensuring privacy and a clear functional separation between spaces.

The architectural language of the project is defined by minimal lines, clean forms, and strict geometries. The contrast between the white plastered surfaces and the natural stone creates a balance between contemporary design and local architectural identity, while the use of natural materials and earthy tones enhances the sense of calmness and timelessness.

Respecting both the landscape and the Cycladic architectural tradition, the project seeks to create a living experience that combines simplicity, geometric clarity, and a strong connection to nature.
