It’s about a renew of an apartment built in the 80’s, located at Brasília-DF, Brazil. After carefully analyzing the physical structure of the unitcould have a clear vision on the real conditions of the apartment.

Narrow rooms due to excess of compartmentation, bad light spaces that caused an enclosure and confined feeling, that describe not an enjoyable place.

After noticing that the intentions were to reorient the spaces in a way to contemplate a proper occupation and the dynamic of the modern life. The design strategies to make a better and bigger integration between spaces and an expressive flexibility of the uses of those spaces.

The inhabit functions defined by the living room, services and recreation areas, traditionally bounded by those specific and static places, on Apartment GL are completely flexible, integrated and likely to be separated providing privacy when desired.

We had the opportunity to explore some unusual and non-conventional solutions, aligned to the concept principles established by spatial integration flexibility.

We revealed the concrete slab with the intention to value the material nobility, the kitchen sink is design in concrete as well and all the electrical plumbing are visible too unsure the proper dynamic between occupation and daily spaces. Wooden floor and moving panels divide and integrate those spaces.
