This project showcases the meticulous restoration, refurbishment and extension of a landmark Grade II Listed building, orginally a purpose-built department store from 1910, situated at the heart of Clapham Junction.

It now houses a ground floor retail hub and characterful workspace for 1000 people, with a new roof terrace offering panoramic views of London.

Layers of non-original building fabric were peeled away to reveal historic features, including the spectacular stained-glass dome and large barrerl-vaulted stained-glass roof previously concealed by many layers of paint.

Arding & Hobbs is a spectacular Grade II listed department store by Clapham Junction, it is now reimagined and extended to provide a mix of retail and leisure spaces on the lower floors with contemporary workspace above.

This much-loved landmark building is fully restored and extended to attract new non-city businesses. Built to BREEAM excellent standards, our MSCASB121 Multicolor Chiaro honed and MSCASB113 Multicolour Nero honed, terrazzo were specified for the reception flooring, step treads and skirting, both products have EPD certification. The Environmental Product Declaration (EPD) is more than just a report - it's a certification of our commitment to sustainability. It precisely reports a product's environmental impact across its entire lifecycle, adhering to EN 15804, ISO 14025, and other international standards for credibility and reliability.
