LBS Properties receives planning approval for Artillery Row residential scheme

A planning application was approved by Westminster City Council for 4-16 Artillery Row, situated in the central Victoria district of London.

Won through competition for client LBS Properties, the project involves the comprehensive refurbishment and extension of an existing 1980s office building to provide eight floors of private residential accommodation and ground floor retail space.

Make’s proposals strip the building back to its primary structure and completely transform the external appearance. The building’s form and details directly reference the handsome proportions and forms of the adjacent Victorian warehouse district within the Westminster Cathedral Conservation Area. The designs employ the same strong simple massing and deeply revealed brickwork offset by the cast metal work and a prominent bespoke glazed clock which anchors the corner views from Victoria Street.

Make worked with planning consultants Turley Associates on the project which is due to will start on site this summer.
