The project is located on a lot to be revitalised near a children playground. The extension and redevelopment includes a semi-Olympic indoor pool. The overall surface area has been doubled and provides sporting facilities as well as a cultural center and a family library. Located on the small lot with an impressive program, the existing L-shape brick volume was expanded into a full rectangular bar, juxtaposed with a two stories volume that takes the shape of the maximum allowable construction limits. This volume housing the aquatic center is cladded in tree shades of metal panels, creating a reminder of light reflecting off water. This portion of the building has a green roof which is visible from the library located on the third floor. The fully windowed pool façade facing north-east, opens on a contemplative garden and brings a diffuse natural light, ensuring safety for the swimmers. A large window frame emerges from the brick volume creating a showcase for the aerobic activities.
