Reuse of the existing building is the basis to make a design towards the dunes, sea and the centre of Kijkduin. This causes a smooth connection with the existing scenic area.

Materials with a closed cycle have been chosen, which refer to beach and dunes. Heat-cold storage with sea water will be used in connection with sun collectors on the roof of the new construction. The wind will be used for cooling of the elevations by causing whirlings, and the "dunes" partly continue into the facade and partly into the building itself. The building will get an open character with functions on the ground floor, such as meeting rooms, spa/fitness and leisure, combined with a lifestyle advisory centre..
