"Small, but flexible“ – Two keywords, which are the best description of this interier design. The space itself is indeed generous in its height, but it is really limited in its ground surface. The challenge was to find here a place for dining, cooking, meeting friends or watching a movie, working and of course – sleeping. Last but not least to create a sufficient amount of storage spaces which are needed for an active life.
We have found a solution in the flexibility and simplicity of the designed furniture. The core element is the staircase – this made-to-measure piece evenly connects with the typified kitchen, which stands next to it.
The staircase itself is in fact a combination of a storage space, the larder and also a hiding place for the washing-machine.
For seating we have chosen home-made „bean bags“ because they are flexible and you can move them wherever you want. In combination with the tip-up table they offer two possibilities of the usage of space – dining or watching a movie on a roll-out projection screen.
The upper floor is separated from the rest of the space by a roll-up blinds . Behind them there is a working place for two persons and a generous futon-bed. Behind the bed there is also a made-to-measure wardrobe – a combination of a bookcase, and open niches instead of night table .
