Baan PO-D is a home-office residence organized around an inner courtyard. The office has its owm separate access yet remains visually and spatially connected to the main building, creating an overall sense of harmony. The design provides private spaces for every family member while the courtyard brings everyone together, offering moments of surprise and strong indoor-outdoor experience.
The building are intentionally varied in height, The north wing rises three stories, the west wing two stories, the south wing one story, and the east side remain open with a single story volume. This height arrangement provides shading from the aflernoon sun, enhance natural ventilation, and ensures the courtyard feel comfortable throughout the day.
The house is arranged in a rectangular form to embrace the courtyard. The staircase, place at one corner as hinge of the plan, separates the living functions into two wings; Office and Home on the ground floor, and Parents' and Kids' quarters on the upper floor.
The orientation responds carfully to sun and wind. An exhaust fan at the top of the stair hall releases trapped hot air, helping keep the home cool throughout the day. Supported by a solar-hybrid system for emergencies, a swimming-pool water reserve, and an edible rooftop garden, Baan PO-D is designed with resilience in mind offering comfort, self-sufficiency, and a sense of security in an unpredictable world.
