DMD​ is proud to announce the completion of a bespoke DMD Copper façade used to clad the Bainbridge Island Gateway, a multi use​ office​l and retail anchor on Bainbridge Island, WA designed by Coates Design Architects. The copper panels were crafted by hand in Silverdale, WA using weatherizing technology developed by DMD. The rustic weathered panels contain a variation of color, which are intended to provide a warm aesthetic to the project, while​ remaining harmonious with nature. The facade is self-healing, and will continue to age over time, thus staying respectful to the environment of Bainbridge Island. The Island Gateway offers an Art Museum and a Children’s Museum which provides access to over 6 million annual ferry riders, and nearly 10,000 annual museum visitors in its first full year of operation. DMD is also known for the creation of the Weathering Steel façade on the exterior of the Barclays Center in New York designed by SHoP Architects.
