Ban-Ban Retreat is a modern wood construction system.

Following the two-story space planning, the structural part is designed with engineered timber construction method, combining solid wood, laminated timber and metal fasteners, with the beam and column system as the main system, and the framed wall system as the supplementary system. 

8 solid Douglas Fir timbers with a cross section of 25cm by 25cm are used as the main structure with solid wood columns connected by metal fasteners running through the first and second floors, and Douglas Fir laminated timber is used as the floor slabs and roof beams, with five sets of H-beam steel as the triple structure. Five sets of H-beam steel are used to create a three-meter deep overhang for the outdoor garage space, which also supports the second floor toilet and balcony.
