From the needs and budget provided by the homeowner, we proposed a non-fireproof timber structure with a 3M setback from the site boundary, and the homeowner wished to keep a low profile on the north side of the road, with only basic lighting and upward sliding windows looking out onto the road.
However, considering the consistency of the façade in all directions, the bedroom on the north side of the second floor was quietly pushed out by 910mm to make a small overhang. The staggered floor plan together with the different exterior wall materials on the first and second floors made the combination of the upper and lower floors look more interesting.
