This laneway house project is located in the Junction neighbourhood of Toronto, built on the owner’s childhood home’s property. Skylights were part of the strategy for letting in natural light without direct views from the main house. The full height frosted glass window at the top of the stair also lets in ample light.
This laneway home is connected in finish and form to the main home, with clean lines and black wood siding, creating a courtyard outdoor space between the two structures. Inside, wood finishes extend inside the space and a black steel screen frames the stairway.
