What was the brief?
As we previously had worked with the client, there was a sense of trust and understanding from the very beginning. The discussions we had with the client were only in terms of the layout and basic requirements in the house and there was complete creative freedom. As we had already built a rapport with the client, the only brief to us was making the house lively and fun just as to how our client is. At the time, inspiration struck me in the form of a painting by Vincent Van Gogh – ‘Poppies and butterflies. Looking at the painting, all I could take from it was the greens, the softness, the butterflies adding life to the painting, and the subtle warmth of the colors on the canvas. This was the starting point of our design process; creating a home that is lively, fun, full of color, but warm at the same time.
