The Investors wanted the house to fulfill their needs. The functionality and zones were important. We created the art workshop and recreation zone open to the garden. The residential part is divided into daily zone- open for guests, ready for parties and meeting with friends. The intimate- night zone is upstairs- with bedrooms- closed for visitors- it’s a private owners’ space.

The Investors insisted on open spaces inside that is why the interiors of contemporary barn in Bochnia are spacious, without many division walls, with multiple glazings, opening for surrounding landscape.Starting from the entrance situated in the glass passage we are in touch with the outside. A long corridor leads to the living room with partially open kitchen, to finish with two- storey glazed wall viewing the nearby hills. The living room was arranged to stay cosy and non-comittal with the tv and a library part. Another zone- more representative one- has a dining table and a gas fireplace. The horizontal set of monster flowers above the living room, breaks the height sensation.

The key challenge was the most optimal location of the house on the building plot. That is why we decided to create two modern barns connected with glass passage, built on the slope, overlooking Beskid Wyspowy Mountains. To take advantage of the landscape the front walls almost lack windows. Totally glazed, two-storey living room wall opens the inside for the outside space which reduces the feeling of isolation. Roof partially made of larch cladding. The glass passage is covered with powder-coated aluminum plate.

Each building has a different function. One is a living space, the other is a garage plus an open part for a summer kitchen with garden furniture. Under the main terrace, we designed an outdoor cellar which became a large supply closet. The rooms in the house are high, spacious without many divisions. The attic is an intimate zone with dressing rooms, bedrooms and two bathrooms. Downstairs there are artist’s studio, storeroom, guest room, kitchen, dining room with a living room and a bathroom.
