Books Outlet

Mutabile Arquitetura as Architects

The cliente wanted a Project with high impact and low cost, seeking a clean store, aligned with the modern online sales platform of high quality books at low prices. Furthermore, the space needed to be flexible, allowing other uses such as book launchings and talks with writers. The solution proposed was to make the best of the beauty of the product itself – books – for the walls and investing in a sensorial ambience based on planes forming an instigating geometry in the ceiling and reflected orange lighting. In this way, it was possible to invest only on plaster panels and paint for the refurbishment to obtain a exciting result for the commercial spot at a low cost. To allow events and other gatherings, large tables with wheels can be moved to the back corridor or stock, freeing the space for other uses.

The existing wall and line of pillars guided the origin of the emerging planes, which come from a common spot and deconstruct throughout the space in diferente angles.

The orange color follows one of the brands colors and makes it possible to create a suprising atmosphere, by reflecting the vibrant color throught the cove lighting. The hidden lighting and absence of revetments contributes to the simplicity of the solution which, nonetheless, catches passersby attention.
