Located in a compact 200 sq. ft. footprint, The Brushelz Office was conceptualized as a refined yet expressive space for AT NUTS, a brand known for its commitment to authenticity, trust, and uncompromising quality in the dry fruit industry. From the outset, the client’s brief was clear: the office had to reflect their brand philosophy - sharp, transparent, and rooted in honesty - while simultaneously offering a visual richness that could resonate with their premium product line. The challenge was to create a space that felt both disciplined and vibrant, clean in its layout yet tactile in its material expression.
This duality became the driving force behind the design. The result is an office that achieves a delicate balance between Minimalist Contemporary and Crafted Indian Modernism, where natural materials, curved forms, and playful detailing come together in a seamless narrative. The layout was dictated by both function and form: the clients needed a space that allowed them to work alongside one another while also being able to comfortably host guests, vendors, and collaborators. This translated into a dual-zone configuration - one part dedicated to working desks for the two founders, and the other forming an informal, more relaxed seating nook.
At the heart of the space is a central curved table that serves as both a work and meeting surface. This table becomes a key design gesture, its organic form highlighted by Jaisalmer stone flute inlays that gracefully follow its curve. These inlays are not merely decorative - they echo the rhythm and flow of conversation and collaboration, reinforcing the table's role as a dynamic social node within the space.
The flooring sets the stage for everything that follows. Crafted in black Kadappa stone, the floor acts as a deep, grounding element, anchoring the space visually and materially. Within this expanse, bright Jaisalmer stone inlays have been meticulously composed to introduce vibrant contrast and rhythm, creating visual interest without overwhelming the senses.
One of the key challenges in this project was to reflect a sense of richness and playfulness within a tight spatial envelope. The client desired a space that felt premium in materiality but not overly serious - a workspace that would reflect their passion for quality while remaining approachable. This contrast between pared-down minimalism and lively detail was initially a design tension but eventually became the project’s greatest strength. By carefully layering materials and thoughtfully placing accents, the space maintains a crisp clarity while offering unexpected moments of warmth and whimsy.
The furniture plays a crucial supporting role in the design language. Executed in warm walnut wood, the furniture pieces provide a sense of tactile richness and visual comfort. The built-in bench along one wall doubles as casual seating for quick meetings or client visits, ensuring the space stays flexible and user-friendly. Adding a playful note to the otherwise composed setting are custom Jaisalmer handles on the back storage unit - small, crafted details that inject personality and visual delight. The use of brass accents in the open shelving unit brings in a layer of sophistication, catching the light in subtle ways and elevating the overall aesthetic.
The spatial design was accomplished through strategic planning and material choices. With limited square footage, each element had to work doubly hard - visually and functionally. From the seamless integration of storage to the choice of finishes, every decision was intentional. The emphasis remained on celebrating Indian materials in a modern, restrained vocabulary.
In terms of construction, traditional stone-cutting techniques were used to shape the Jaisalmer inlays, while the black Kadappa flooring was laid out as large uninterrupted slabs to maintain a clean visual flow. The furniture was custom-made in walnut veneer, with brass and stone detailing done by local craftsmen.
Among the many layered details, the flooring composition stands out with quiet confidence - seamless Kadappa stone punctuated by vibrant Jaisalmer inlays that bring rhythm, warmth, and a touch of unexpected joy. It captures the spirit of the space and the brand in a way that feels both grounded and expressive.
Ultimately, The Brushelz Office is more than a workspace. It’s a spatial manifestation of brand philosophy, a place where thoughtful design meets meaningful function.
