The project consists of the interior reform of an apartment in the Poblenou district of Barcelona. It has two facades, the street and the inner courtyard, and two interior courtyards.
The strategy chosen to solve the distribution is to distinguish two areas. The first opens onto the interior façade and concentrates the most intimate romos, wich require less surface and more compartimentation, bedrooms and bathrooms.
The second one, is located on the façade of the Street and houses the most public uses, giving rise to a sigle open space that houses the kitchen, dining room, living room and study. The proposal allows to make the mosto f the light and the natural ventilation and provide a feeling of spaciousness and fluidity to the house.
In order to solve the needs of the inhabitants, three elements are projected that, in addition to their main use, fulfill the function of storage: the dinning room bench, the armchair and the desk furniture.
In relation to materiality, it is chosen to value the original elements. The pavement is restored and the ceramic vaults are painted and left with views. This decision proposes a formal and colored game, while leaving a record of the trace of time.
