Despite their apparent simplicity, small "cabins" have always presented a welcome design challenge, requiring careful consideration of scale and materiality to maximize utility within minimal spaces.


Nestled on a steep slope, this project seamlessly integrates into its surroundings, naturally blending into the terrain of the Rhine Valley. The compact, straightforward construction of the building serves as a barn and storage space for landscaping equipment, as intended by the client.


The facade design utilizes varying lengths of leftover materials from the client, who supplies the stair industry. This resourceful solution, coupled with the choice of materials, imbues the building and its surroundings with a distinct atmosphere.
