Camp redo district

The proposal responds to the goal of the Palma City Council to rehabilitate the Camp Redó area with the creation of new social amenities, a car park and green zones in order to improve the urban level of the degraded public space.

The two proposed blocks comply with the requirement of having the same layout as the existing building, integrating into the setting of Camp Redó. Two decisions mark the typology of the blocks: They will both have the daytime zone oriented southwards and the surface area of the apartments will be maximised: to achieve this, the apartments will be accessed by means of a walkway. This walkway is fundamental for minimising the nuclei of vertical communication, reduced to one, and taking advantage of the 50 cm permitted by the regulations for canopies and overhangs, it is possible to optimise the apartments.

In response to the intention of the plan to enhance the "green passage" that unites all the blocks, the access to the apartments and the Day Centre will be by way of this passage, although once inside the patio the two accesses are totally independent. This route is parallel to that between the car park located underneath the "green passage" and the nucleus of the project.

The Day Centre is distributed mainly on the ground floor, with only the communication passage between the blocks, the laundry and the utility room being located underground. The project contemplates a differentiation of spaces for users with severe dependence from those who are autonomous.
