Casa Carbonado, with its diamond shape, is located in the urban void of the historic center of Aarschot, in Flanders. The main side (4.3m), compact in black aluminum on the ground floor, is dematerialized thanks to a game of rhythms of Japanese burnt wood, which conceals the loggia and ends with a precious golden zinc roof.
From the entrance, surprisingly, the space expands in width and height: a sculptural ramp embraces all the rooms of the house.
From the huge windows on the patio garden, and from the internal glass balcony that overlooks the double-height space of the living room, nature and light both enter all the rooms of the house.
Through the language of contemporary architecture, the house dialogues harmoniously with the context in which it is inserted thanks to the direct/ indirect relationship between exterior and interior, between private and public space.
