Casa Credito

The Casa Crédito project corresponds to a single-family house with a continuous facade between medianeros, located in the municipality of Providencia, Santiago, Chile. The surrounding neighborhood called "Barrio Italia" is constituted by patrimonial and renovated properties, highlighting the artistic and bohemian spirit. Art galleries, fashion stores, restaurants and artists' workshops within the most prominent.

The initial proposal was intended to be a remodeling of the existing home, with a central axis of circulation, however when making the first revisions in the field we found that the property lacked foundations and structural walls. We opted to rebuild the house from its foundations, incorporating current regulations, extending its possibilities through interior patios and terraced ceilings. The floors are arranged in 3 levels, highlighting the use of ceilings as green roofs or terraces, generating views of the Andean mountain range and the San Cristóbal hill, an icon of the capital.

The program of the house is organized around a central circulation as the original house with a succession of patios and enclosures associated with these with stairs that communicate the house in its 3 levels relating the interior program of the house with its roofs terrace . When being between medianeros we take advantage of the natural light generating patios oriented towards the north that contribute natural illumination, ventilation and empty without building.

The predominant materiality consists of: steel structure with intumescent paint, reinforced masonry, collaborative slab, asphalt membrane, interiors in recycled native wood, refined radier pavements and reuse of the original tiles of the house.
