The CASA DE CAIXA House for Mr Mansoor House was conceived as an attempt to find balance between a large house befitting its context and client requirement and modest family friendly home. The homeowners aspired of laying roots with their young family in this coveted neighborhood in Calicut. 

The entire structure is aligned North-South in accordance with the fundamental vastu principles. The structure is approached from the North side, where a four-car porch is offered. The Public areas extends from the sitout, which is intended to be a large interacting space with an adjacent reflection pond and greenery, to the voluminous formal living, which has its own deck space and pond. A prayer room is provided in close proximity to the formal living for family members and guests.

A 14 meter long family space integrating the family living, dining and show kitchen makes the crux of the design. The main kitchen and work area lies next to the show kitchen separated by the courtyard from the servant’s quarters. The family space opens into a 5.80 acre landscaped deck space with a 16 meter swimming pool. A fitness area overlooking the pool along with the master bedroom and guest bedroom is placed towards the southwest corner from where the wind flows into the building.

A lounging area with a view of the poolside is created by projecting the stairway leading to the first floor outward. Three bedrooms, a family room, and a 14 seater home theater are all located on the first level. The double-height living spaces and the poolside line the passageways. Access to the driver's quarters, which are close to the laundry room, is from the outside.
