Refurbishment of an apartment in Valencia
The project consists of the refurbishment of an apartment in Valencia with the typical structure, distribution and characteristics of housing in the ensanche (enlargement) of Valencia -very deep and with a facade to the street and other to a communal courtyard- and overlooking the former "Mercado de Abastos".
To make the most of these views and natural light from the street, the living-dining room occupies the entire width of the facade, and the kitchen is linked through large glass sliding doors that get out of sight when open and that divide the countertop, which works both as a bar and a foyer.
In the background, the master bedroom also takes up the entire width of the back facade. The other bedrooms and service rooms are located in a volume around the courtyard and the staircase of the building.
In the hallway area, we’ve installed a bookcase with horizontal selves and indirect lighting to use the space left due to the dividing pillars, and the bedroom doors are hidden in the walls.
Wooden floors and white walls give prominence to some brick elements in the living-dining room and in the master bedroom that have been restored from the original apartment.
