The area of intervention is located near the Buonconsiglio Castle, just above the ancient red marble quarries of Trento.
The entire project, including both demolition and reconstruction, aims to achieve a twofold objective: from the outside, to be inserted harmoniously into the surrounding urban context and from the inside, to open up the view onto the city below.

The arrangement and form of the historic buildings located along the ridge of rock have obviously influenced the compact monolithic-like character of this wooden-structured project. In addition, the shades of colours of the nearby castle and the exposed rock have also influenced the decision to give the building a natural lime-like colour.

The large openings breached permitted the digging of a compact volume and at the same time increased the amount of internal area in contact with the surrounding landscape. The use of a different, darker colour enhances their depth by underlining its natural shade.
