Casa Tigres is located on an orthogonal lot in a subdivision on the coast of Nayarit. Conceived as a vacation home, the central courtyard plays an important role in the development of the project around it.
In this project the patio is the guiding axis of the project, around it are linked the dependencies of the architectural program, here is integrated a pool that connects with the side garden, and on the other side connects with the double height kitchen where when the sliding windows are opened the space becomes one.
The strategic design of the connection between the central courtyard and the double height kitchen gave us the opportunity to play with cross ventilation, allowing the wind to circulate freely through each of the spaces, omitting the continuous use of air conditioning.
The house is built on two floors, with an entrance marked by a wooden cantilever, which gives access through a side door with the central courtyard as a visual highlight. On the first floor there is a bedroom, covered garage, kitchen with double height living room, dining room, barbecue area and stairs that connect to the upper floor. On the second floor, as you go up the marble-covered ironwork stairs, you will find 2 secondary bedrooms, one of them with a view of the exterior and the other with a view of the central courtyard. Through a corridor of windows and recessed planters, the master bedroom is connected to the vertical circulations. It has a walk-in closet for two people and a marble bathroom overlooking the central courtyard.
The façade features a volume with simple floor plans, a predominance of orthogonal lines, and solid walls clad in Veracruz marble and parota wood, framing a visual harmony with the landscape design.
The landscape design sought to give life and at the same time embrace the project, framed by palm trees and tropical vegetation.
Materiality The project is characterized by covering floors and walls with tarvertine marble from Veracruz and accentuating the central courtyard with Santo Tomás marble, combining these materials with natural parota wood details.
