Casa TO, a boutique hotel in La Punta Zicatela, Puerto Escondido, Oaxaca, Mexico, was conceptualized by architect Ludwig Godefroy and completed in 2022. With just nine suites, it aims to redefine hospitality by combining environmental consciousness with architectural brilliance in a serene natural setting.
The challenge was to seamlessly integrate the structure with the local environment. Godefroy drew inspiration from historical hydraulic works, resulting in a timeless design that plays with privacy and exposure. Materials like concrete, steel, clay, and wood were thoughtfully chosen to connect the hotel with its surroundings.
The interior design takes inspiration from a Madagascar Blue Bismarck palm tree, creating a soothing palette of natural tones and vibrant turquoise hues. Sustainability is a core principle, evident in the water treatment plant, solar panels, and a strict zero-plastics policy.
Casa TO invites guests to pause, reconnect, and immerse themselves in a contemplative experience surrounded by conceptual elegance and total serenity. This boutique hotel successfully marries modern luxury, architectural innovation, and environmental responsibility.

Material Used:
1. Furnishings: Casa TO aims to convey a sensation of luxury through the contact with simple and honest elements. For this reason the furnishings were selected from the offerings of craftspeople working in different states across Mexico, including Puebla, Guadalajara and Oaxaca, who adapted their designs and color schemes exclusively for the hotel.
2. Unique pieces: The decorative elements at Casa TO have been created with an essence that allows them to move into the lives of those who connect with them. These unique pieces are made available to guests to extend the experience of their visit into their homes. Unique objects and designs exclusively for Casa TO can be purchased directly or commissioned to local artisans for reinterpretation.
3. These items include: bedspreads by Alfredo Orozco for Taller Textil Experimental; rugs by Beto Ruiz for TallerOcho; lamps by Natural Urbano, pool towels by NuCyCy, whites by Vivenda and bamboo furniture by Tiago Solis Van Beuren for Bamburen.
