CBF

The new headquarters of the Brazilian Football Confederation (CBF), designed by ARCHITECTS OFFICE in Rio de Janeiro, was conceived from a sensitive investigation into identity, functionality, and representation. The goal was to transform the “home of Brazilian football” into an emblematic space, aligned with its institutional relevance while remaining elegant and refined.

For AO, interior design shapes human experience. From circulation to materiality and spatial solutions, the project is guided by context and an investigative narrative that materializes unique atmospheres. Here, the atmosphere reflects Brazilian identity and the presence of football in a contemporary and elegant way. Colors, graphics, and materials reinforce the CBF’s visual identity, weaving together rigor and lightness, formality and informality, without resorting to clichés.

The intervention spans four floors, reorganizing circulation, receptions, terraces, cafeteria, auditorium, and staff areas, while preserving the existing executive offices. The design responds to the new dynamics of the corporate environment, transforming CBF’s specific demands into architectural solutions. The zoning of teams guided the spatial organization: each staff group was assigned its own color, simultaneously evoking Brazilian references, structuring the workplace, and strengthening a sense of belonging.

These color-coded hubs, equipped with armchairs, coffee stations, and televisions, not only organize daily routines but also allow staff to watch the national team’s matches, amplifying the sense of community within the workspace. Smaller hubs were also created for relaxation and informal gatherings, fostering moments of connection.

The project also delivers visually striking settings appropriate for television broadcasts, avoiding superficial solutions. The history of Brazilian football is brought to life in the interiors through museum pieces, display shelves for World Cup trophies, and new lighting that highlights this cultural heritage.

The result is an interior design that reflects a living narrative—integrating memory and identity, promoting encounters and experiences, and creating an iconic atmosphere capable of embodying the greatness of Brazilian football.
