celadon is a modern minimalist, eco-friendly, town-house style condominium project in Charlotte, NC. It consists of 24 units (1, 2 and 3 bedroom) on a 1.34 ac lot, 0.33 ac of which has been designated as a natural, undisturbed tree-save area. The design aesthetic reflects a modern, clean and uncluttered vision for the development. The design is driven by clean lines, large open floor plans with 10 to 20 foot ceilings, fully appointed modern kitchens, and spacious master suites. All the units at celadon are ENERGY STAR ™ certified with over 20 proven sustainable design features. The project was also accepted into the LEED-ND pilot program and is pending LEED-ND certification.

We recognized that there was a real gap in sustainable multifamily product on the market. So to help set our client’s product apart from all other product available we wanted to provide a sustainable option for the home buyer. Sustainable design was achieved through a combination of site design strategies and material selections. Many of the design decisions were concentrated to improve energy savings and water saving measures. Interior material choices were made to improve indoor air quality. With a strict budget we worked with vendors directly to find green materials and strategies that enhanced both the aesthetic and sustainable vision.
