MALLEY STATION DISTRICT, PRILLY
The large “urban piece” included in the competition benefits from high density while creating a large public square on the Avenue du Chablais. An intermediate street divides the project into two buildings, with different programmes, materials
and scales. 

To the east, the Tower’s load-bearing structure is differentiated according to its three uses: commercial retail space in the base, offices with large windows on the middle floors and residential units with differentiated windows and loggias at the top. To the west, a building inspired by an American brick warehouse takes its inspiration from the location’s industrial past. The rigour of its vertical frame is tempered by the variation of its apertures, by loggias signaling habitation and by cornices giving rhythm to the volume.
At the foot of buildings and on the roof, the architecture is enhanced by local vegetation, for example, the many trees shading the streets and squares. The mineral origins of the façade and its facings (burgundy-coloured terracotta to the west and beige limestone to the east) is in dialogue with the vegetation. The stone and brick will develop a patina over time, paced by the changing seasons of the foliage.
